French Pain Research Network
The objective of the Inserm French Pain Research Network is to strengthen the links between basic research and clinical research in order to improve the visibility of research in the field of pain, but above all to develop innovative research projects that are translational in nature in order to propose new therapeutic strategies for the management of pain patients. It is composed of 25 teams (University, Inserm, CNRS, Hospital...) from 11 different cities (Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Saint-Etienne, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Grenoble, Dijon, Orléans), i.e. 330 scientists (researchers, doctors, support staff, doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows) in fundamental (67%), clinical (20%) or translational (13%) research. The network's expertise ranges from multidisciplinary approaches in preclinical research (from molecules to behaviour) to clinical research and the management and treatment of pain in specialised structures. The network partners are the French Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain (SFETD) and the French Society for the Study of Migraines and Headaches (SFEMC).
